What is Yoinx?
Yoinx is a free-to-play online game platform built on the Internet Computer (ICP) blockchain. Players compete head-to-head or in tournaments to win real prizes including grocery coupons, gift cards, ICP cryptocurrency, and Bitcoin. All gameplay is fully on-chain, meaning every round is transparent and verifiable.
How do I play games on Yoinx?
Browse available games in the lobby and join a game by paying the entry fee. Games are head-to-head (1v1) or tournaments (multi-player). Each game is a series of rounds — the first player to win the required number of rounds wins the prize.
What prizes can I win?
Yoinx offers four types of prizes: (1) Grocery Coupons — digital coupons redeemable at local partner businesses, (2) Gift Cards — digital gift cards for major retailers, (3) ICP Cryptocurrency — Internet Computer tokens sent directly to your wallet, and (4) Bitcoin — small amounts of BTC awarded as prizes.
Is Yoinx really free to play?
Yes! Yoinx offers free practice games and free tools games where you can win coupons, gift cards, and crypto at absolutely no cost. Paid games have a small entry fee denominated in Yoinx (the in-game currency), which funds the prize pool.
How do I withdraw my ICP winnings?
Your winnings are held in your Yoinx wallet (a dedicated ICP subaccount on the ledger). To withdraw, go to the Wallet tab, enter your Internet Computer principal ID as the destination, and submit a withdrawal request. The ICP is transferred directly from your subaccount to your principal on the ICP blockchain — fast, secure, and low-fee.
What is the Internet Computer (ICP)?
The Internet Computer is a decentralized blockchain network created by the DFINITY Foundation. It enables building fully on-chain applications that run at web speed. Yoinx leverages ICP for transparent gameplay, secure fund custody via subaccounts, and instant prize payouts.
How are game winners determined?
Each game is a "first to win X rounds" format. For example, in a "1st to win 7" game, the first player to win 7 rounds takes the prize. Rounds are played sequentially and each outcome is determined by on-chain game logic — entirely verifiable on the Internet Computer blockchain.
How do I claim free tools prizes?
When you win a free tools game (coupons, gift cards, or crypto), the prize is not credited automatically. You must explicitly claim it from the game results screen. This ensures you acknowledge and confirm receipt of your prize.
What are Game Actions (Slap, Yoinx, Sneak)?
Game Actions are the moves you make during a round. "Slap" is a basic action, "Yoinx" is a power move, and "Sneak" is a strategic action. Each action has different strengths and counters, creating a rock-paper-scissors-style strategic gameplay loop.
Is my money safe on Yoinx?
Yoinx uses ICP subaccounts on the official ICP ledger to hold user funds. Each user has a dedicated subaccount derived from their principal ID. Withdrawals are performed directly through the ICP ledger's ICRC-1 transfer — Yoinx never custodies your funds in a centralized wallet. All transactions are verifiable on-chain.
How do I deposit ICP into my Yoinx wallet?
Go to the Wallet tab to see your unique deposit address (an ICP account ID). Send ICP from any wallet (Plug, NNS dApp, or any exchange that supports ICP) to that address. Your balance updates automatically once the transaction is confirmed on-chain.
Can I play Yoinx on mobile?
Yes, Yoinx is fully responsive and works on mobile browsers. You can also install Yoinx as a Progressive Web App (PWA) from your mobile browser for an app-like experience.
What is the Yoinx entry fee?
Entry fees are denominated in Yoinx (the in-game currency pegged to ICP). Fees vary by game — auto-created games range from 3 to 100 Yoinx. The entry fee funds the prize pool, and the winner takes the pool minus a small platform fee.
How do referrals work?
Every Yoinx player gets a unique referral code and URL that is permanently assigned to your account. Share your referral link with friends — when they sign up using your link, you earn referral rewards based on their gameplay activity.
